Description |
YEATS domain, named after the first proteins recognized to contain this module (Yaf9, ENL, AF9, Taf14, Sas5). The primary amino acid sequence of the YEATS domain is evolutionarily conserved from yeast to human and plants and is found in proteins belonging to a variety of chromatin-modifying complexes and transcription factors. The YEATS domain consists of a beta-sandwich characteristic of the Immunoglobulin (Ig) fold family with 8 antiparallel ??-strands capped on one end by 2 short ??-helices, In Arabidopsis under long days, it appears that YAF9a is a positive regulator of FLC expression by controlling H4 acetylation levels at this locus. These results consolidate the model in which the chromatin remodeling comp |
