  JUMONJI
Family Type Transcription factor & chromatin remodeling
Plant Specific No
Functional Domains DNA binding domain
Must-have InterProScan Domain Pattern IPR003347 and IPR003349
Prohibited InterProScan Domain Pattern IPR001606 IPR009071
Description

In many diverse species including bacteria, fungi, plants, and animals, contains jumanji protein family. Many jumonji
family proteins that have only the jmjC domain or may both jmjC and jmjN domains. JmjC domain containing proteins have been shown to be involved in chromatin remodeling, acting as histone demethylases. Resent discovery highlighted that a JmjC domain-containing protein functions as a circadian clock component.
