Description |
GATA binding transcription factors are wide spread in animal, plant and fungus kingdom. GATA factors are characterised by the presence of conserved, type-IV zinc-finger motifs. Both C-x2-C-x17-Cx2-C (Type IVa) and C-x2-C-x18-C-x2-C (Type IVb) GATA factors are found in fungi, on the other hand animals only contain the former C2C2 motif, and plants only have the latter C2C2 motif.
