  C2C2-GATA
Family Type Transcription factor
Plant Specific No
Functional Domains DNA binding domain
Must-have InterProScan Domain Pattern IPR000679 or IPR016679 or IPR013088
Prohibited InterProScan Domain Pattern IPR006564
Description

GATA binding transcription factors are wide spread in animal, plant and fungus kingdom. GATA factors are characterised by the presence of conserved, type-IV zinc-finger motifs. Both C-x2-C-x17-Cx2-C (Type IVa) and C-x2-C-x18-C-x2-C (Type IVb) GATA factors are found in fungi, on the other hand animals only contain the former C2C2 motif, and plants only have the latter C2C2 motif.
