Description

The BTB/POZ domain is an evolutionarily conserved protein-protein interaction domain that is found at the N terminus of some C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factors and in actin binding proteins. Examples of the BTB/POZ domain have been identified in organisms from yeast to human. The BTB (for Broad Complex, tramtrack and bric a brac) / POZ (for poxviruses and zinc finger) are an approximately 20-amino acid conserved and hydrophobic domain. BTB/POZ-MATH (BPM) is a BTB/POZ protein which is also associated with MATH domain. MATH is a TRAF (tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor) homology (MATH) domain. MATH domain is involved in various biological processes. In Arabidopsis, BPM has been shown to interact with AP2/ERF-TF.
