Description |
BZR and BES are brasinosteroid regulated transcription factors. This is a plant specific group of TF. In BZR1 and BES1 have a high sequence similarity (88% sequence identity at the protein level). But still they proposed to have different mode of action. BZR1 binds to the CGTG(T/C)G motif (also known as BR-Response Element or BRRE) to suppress gene expression of BR-biosynthetic genes . On the other hand BES1 binds the CANNTG sequence (also known as E box) to activate BR-induced gene expression.
